Driving Test

I will be a bit out of touch the next few weeks. I am studying for my driver’s test. So, when I have a moment to email, call or blog it will be spent studying. Blah. There aren’t many things I detest more. We have to take a theory test, perception test, and on the road test. I can’t believe 21 years after the first time I am doing it again! The written test has over a 1000 potential questions including first aid, motorcycle safety, documentation and car maintenance. I am in H E double hockey sticks.

Also, I can’t find the new drive for our pictures. So I will add some pictures soon.

More British Phrases

But, never mind = anyway
Pudding = dessert
Childminder = Daycare Provider
I’m not being funny= I don’t have an exact translation. For example, “Look, I told the chap I’m not being funny, I really want…” Or “I’m not being funny, I was really worried."

Maths = Math S studies maths. It is her favorite subject.

First Ballet Recital

S had her first recital. It was for two nights. S was in her element. She wasn’t even a tiny bit nervous. We are the classic parents~She did fantastic!

I am always amazed at her confidence with a crowd. She loves to perform. At the same time, she is already worrying about next school year because she “won’t be used to the teacher.”

One Year

One Year
Well, it has been one year today since our arrival in England. It is hard to believe. At times, it has seemed to go so quickly and at others so slowly. I keep wondering what we will think when we have been home in the states a year. I am sure we will reminisce about the terrible service, the rainy days and dullness of food. We will miss the incredible travel, the freedom of living in the moment and our new friends.

In the time we have been here, my parents have visited twice. We have had visits from the K family, KK, DB, and the TE & KT. We have visited France, Spain, Wales, Ireland, Malta and the States. S turned 6 and X will be 3 soon. (And all of our friends children have gotten older!) We feel much older and a tiny bit wiser.

I am glad we came, even on the toughest days. We have done so many things, seen so much, and have grown stronger from it all.

Love always, B
